The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) is one of the primary streams under Canadaโs Express Entry System, designed for professionals with the skills, experience, and education to contribute to the Canadian economy. If you’re aiming for Canada PR through a skilled migration route, this program could be the ideal path for you.
The FSWP is a point-based immigration program under Express Entry that allows skilled professionals to apply for Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada. Itโs open to candidates with international work experience, not necessarily tied to a Canadian job offer.
To qualify for the FSWP, you must score at least 67 out of 100 points based on the following six selection factors:
Age
Educational Qualification
Skilled Work Experience
English and/or French Language Proficiency
Adaptability (including spouse’s background, Canadian education/work)
Valid Job Offer (optional, but adds points)
Apart from the 67 points, you must also meet these baseline requirements:
One year of continuous full-time (or equivalent) paid work experience in a skilled occupation (within the last 10 years)
Minimum language proficiency score in IELTS/CELPIP (CLB 7 or higher)
Valid Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from an approved agency
Proof of funds to support yourself and your dependents
Clean police verification and medical clearance
Check your eligibility and calculate your CRS score
Create your Express Entry profile
Enter the Express Entry pool and wait for an Invitation to Apply (ITA)
Submit your complete PR application within 60 days of receiving ITA
Receive a decision within 6 months and get ready to settle in Canada!

Valid passport
Language test results (IELTS/TEF)
